ABOUT
CLUB 22
Club 22 began as a passion project rooted in years of dedication to the sport of soccer. Our founder, Salomon Ortega, started playing at the age of five at his local recreational park and went on to compete in AYSO, club, and academy programs. Through over a decade of consistent training and competition, including national-level tournaments, he developed a deep understanding of the discipline, respect, and work ethic required to excel in the game.
The name Club 22 honors Salomon’s late father, who was born on the 22nd and played a central role in supporting his early soccer journey. The number now represents legacy, family, and the values that define the program: hard work, passion, consistency, and ambition.
At Club 22, we are committed to developing players of all ages and levels — from beginners to academy prospects and collegiate athletes. Our training options include 1-on-1 sessions, small group training, conditioning, and camps. Beyond technical growth, our focus is on instilling the values that create strong athletes both on and off the field.
Our vision is to establish Club 22 as a leading soccer program in California, known for collaborating with clubs, advancing player development, and creating an environment where every athlete can reach their highest potential.

COACH NELSON
Soccer has been a part of who I am since I was 7 years old. Growing up, I had the privilege of competing at high levels, including being part of the Olympic Development Program, where I learned the importance of discipline, hard work, and consistency.
As a coach, I focus on fundamentals — the details that build strong players. To me, soccer isn’t only about flashy moves or highlights; it’s about mastering the basics, staying composed, and developing habits that create long-term success. I believe that if a player can get the fundamentals right, everything else in the game becomes easier.
Club 22 represents exactly that: a program rooted in passion, discipline, and growth. My goal is to help players sharpen their foundation and understand the game at a deeper level, so they can perform with confidence in any environment.
COACH TYLER
Football has always been a part of who I am, rooted in my Jamaican heritage and upbringing. Like many others, I started in AYSO before moving on to bigger clubs. At just 12 years old, I joined the LA Galaxy Academy, the #1 ranked team in the nation, and continued competing at high levels throughout my youth.
The game has been my life for 18 years. As a teenager, I had the opportunity to try out in Germany with professional clubs, where I received contract offers, but I decided to go another way. The experience shaped me as both a player and a person.
For me, Club 22 is more than training — it’s an elite program built on passion and hunger. My mission as a coach is to pass down the lessons I’ve learned, including the mistakes I made, to guide players. Football has given me everything, and now it’s my turn to give back by helping the next generation grow with passion, discipline, and confidence on and off the field.
COACH SALOMON
Soccer has been a part of my life for 17 years, shaping both the way I play and the way I lead others. As a teenager, I competed at the highest level of U.S. soccer before choosing to focus on my education, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in business. That balance of experience on the field and in the classroom gives me a unique perspective as a coach.
My coaching style is built on intensity and discipline. I specialize in defensive training, using high-tempo drills and game-like scenarios that push players to their limits. I demand effort and consistency because I believe those qualities build habits that last far beyond the game.
My goal is to help players develop the toughness and discipline needed to succeed, whether that means excelling in a local academy, earning a scholarship, or chasing a professional career.
